KYKLOS – A new cultural landmark in Piraeus

The Dinos and Lia Martinos Foundation (DLMF) is establishing a new centre for arts and cultures in Piraeus, in the area of Neo Faliro, close to the Neo Faliro metro station.

Named KYKLOS, the centre will house collections of artworks from Africa, Oceania and other global regions.

In addition to its permanent collections, KYKLOS will present major temporary exhibitions and a wide-ranging programme of cultural activity. This will include talks, screenings and educational initiatives — delivered across physical and digital platforms — exploring the evolving dynamics of global artistic practice.

KYKLOS aims to become an international hub for contemporary art, education and culture, connected to leading institutions worldwide and open to the local community, school groups and visitors to Athens and Piraeus.

The building has been designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop as an exemplar of sustainability and contemporary architectural design.

The facilities have been planned to the highest environmental standards and will contribute to the enhancement of the surrounding urban fabric, ensuring accessibility for all visitors. Sixty-two per cent of the total site will be dedicated to landscaped green and recreational areas.

Completion is scheduled for the final quarter of 2028 and the project will be fully funded through private resources.

The Executive Director of DLMF is Christos Carras.
